How much deposit do I need for a first home in Perth?

The standard is 20% to avoid Lenders Mortgage Insurance, but most of our first home buyer clients buy with less. With the First Home Guarantee scheme, eligible buyers can purchase with as little as 5% deposit without paying LMI. We’ll check your eligibility in our first conversation and tell you exactly what’s available in your situation.

Can I use the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) as my deposit?

The FHOG in WA is currently $10,000 for eligible new builds. It’s paid at settlement, so it can’t be used as your initial deposit — but it reduces what you need to contribute at that point. We’ll walk you through exactly how the timing works and how to plan your savings around it.
 

What are the stamp duty concessions in WA?

First home buyers in WA can access stamp duty concessions on properties up to $600,000, with partial concessions up to $700,000.
